A few months ago we published our first discussion paper titled ‘What is the metaverse and why you should care’, and we promised to produce more. 

Here is our second paper discussing ‘Who is policing the Metaverse?’, where we talk about the latest developments and thinking.

The metaverse creates a wide range of social, economic and environmental opportunities, but it also has a negative environmental impact, and brings with it risks for individual users.

In this paper, we explore why policing the metaverse has become increasingly necessary, as well as highlighting the approaches and solutions being developed by governments, regulators, and law enforcement agencies worldwide.
